In May, Afina released its own MCP server, the afina-mcp package on npm. The first version appeared in the registry on May 10, and on May 14 the company published a detailed overview of its capabilities on its blog. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open protocol that allows AI clients such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, and Cline to call functions in other applications.
The server runs on top of Afina’s local HTTP API. Through it, an agent can create and launch profiles, check proxies, write and debug RPA scripts, schedule tasks, and import cookies. The blog post, updated on July 6, lists 67 tools; the documentation already lists 92, plus 5 resources, as of July 28. Version 2.0.14 added support for managing databases, global variables, and account variables through MCP.
To connect, you need Afina running, an API key from its settings, and Node.js 18 or later. The server itself is launched with npx -y afina-mcp. The agent does not connect directly to the Afina database: every call is sent to the API with the key, and most requests return a 401 error without it. According to the pricing page, API access is available on all plans, starting with Lite at $9 per month.
