On June 23, 2026, Incogniton 5.0.0.4 was released with Chrome 149 as its browser engine. It is available for new profiles and the “latest user-agent” option. Before that, the app had been running on engine 146 since March. Page translation was added in April, and profile crashes and launch failures on some devices were fixed on May 14. Versions 147 and 148 do not appear in the changelog. Incogniton announced Chrome 149 on Telegram on July 3 and strongly recommended installing the update.
For users who have trouble accessing Incogniton’s servers, another change matters more. Account sign-in and profile launches now automatically switch to a backup connection in regions where the main servers are difficult to reach. No VPN is required.
The default theme now follows the system’s light or dark mode. Team administrators can allow roles to hide the update prompt at startup, which is useful for always-on computers and call centers. Fixed: proxies added via the API or from a file are now applied every time. The browser language follows the proxy’s country when the “language by IP” setting is enabled. Saved passwords and cloud synchronization no longer disable themselves.
What to do: Update the app, then change the browser version for older profiles in their settings. Starting with 5.0.0.6, this can be done for multiple profiles at once through the bulk menu.
