Antik Browser Releases

Antik Browser has switched to Chromium 156 and once again warned about the local API key

On October 29, the browser engine was updated to Chromium 156. According to the company, the security of the local API was improved once again. An API key is still optional, but the company is again asking users to add it to their scripts in advance.

On October 29, 2026, Antik Browser announced in its official Telegram channel that its browser engine had been updated to Chromium 156. As in previous posts, the company says the version matches the official Google Chrome version. Last time, on September 30, it announced version 154, and there was no post about version 155 in the channel.

As it did a month ago, the company says this version improves local API security. The warning was repeated word for word: in one of the next releases, the key will become mandatory for all requests to the local API, so it should be added to your scripts in advance. This means the key was still optional as of October 29, and the company has still not announced a deadline. The post does not explain exactly what changed in the API security.

The application version number was not included in the announcement. The closest build to the post in the official GitHub repository is 1.21.0 from October 28, for Windows (x64) and macOS on Intel and Apple Silicon. It has no changelog. The English channel added that you need to close Antik Browser and relaunch it to install the update. For older profiles, the company recommends updating the user agent through the bulk actions menu if necessary.
