Version 2.47.0 was released on June 9, 2026. The browser engine was updated to Chromium 149, and the Widevine (DRM) module was updated to the latest version.
The update changed how the x-browser-validation header is generated. All Google sites use this header to verify the browser. According to the developers, the change makes the browser mimic Chrome more accurately. It affects anyone using Google services.
For automation, the API now includes the /profile/unlock/<profileID> method. Previously, if a script crashed or the network connection dropped, a profile could remain locked and stall the entire workflow. Now it can be unlocked with a single request. The built-in automation API is also better at finding elements inside iframes, where payment forms and CAPTCHAs often appear.
Fixed an issue that caused the app to close when someone connected to the computer running it over RDP.
Version 2.47.1 followed the next day, June 10. It disabled browser features that were downloading extra cache into profiles because of Google's AI functionality.
