On October 15, ZennoLab released ZennoBrowser 1.22.0. It adds two profile management features the company had promised on October 1, when it opened early access to new versions.
The first is a trash bin. You can restore a deleted profile within 48 hours. After that, it’s automatically removed from the trash bin and can’t be recovered. Previously, there was no way to restore deleted profiles.
The second feature is temporary profiles for one-off tasks. According to the 1.21.0 announcement, they come with a fingerprint and proxy. They don’t appear in the main profile list and are deleted along with their data as soon as you close them. You can also create one from your own script using the create_temporary method in the local API.
Among the fixes, the company specifically mentioned Cookie Robot freezing on Avito. They also fixed:
- a banner about local profiles appearing when transferring a cloud profile;
- an incorrect notification when bulk-adding profiles with proxies from a list;
- a false “site already in the list” message when adding a start page.
Who it affects: Anyone running one-off checks through the API can use temporary profiles to avoid manually cleaning up the profile list. However, according to a forum user, you still can’t clear cookies through the API; only the cache can be cleared. The user asked about this in a thread on October 17, but the team hadn’t replied by October 29.
