Antik Browser has moved to Chromium 156 and issued another warning about its local API key

On October 29, 2026, Antik Browser announced on its official Telegram channel that the browser engine had been updated to Chromium 156. As in previous posts, the company says this matches the official version of Google Chrome. Last time, on September 30, it announced version 154. There was no post about version 155 on the channel.

As it did a month ago, the company says this version improves local API security. The post doesn’t say exactly what changed in the API’s security. The warning was repeated word for word: in one of the next releases, the key will be required for all requests to the local API. So, as of October 29, the key is still optional, and the company hasn’t given a timeline.

The announcement doesn’t specify the app version. The closest build in the official GitHub repository is 1.21.0, released on October 28 for Windows (x64) and macOS on Intel and Apple Silicon. No changelog is available.

What to do: Add the key to your scripts in advance, as the company recommends. To install the update, close and restart Antik Browser, as the company added in its English-language channel. For older profiles, the company recommends updating the user agent through the bulk actions menu if needed.
