Kameleo 4.5: Web Interface and VNC Access in the Docker Image

The Kameleo Linux container now includes a browser profile management interface and built-in VNC, giving you visibility into running browsers.

Kameleo 4.5.0 was released on May 7, 2026, and announced on Telegram the following day. Both major updates concern the Linux Docker image, which Kameleo announced two weeks earlier. At the time, it included only an API and command-line interface, with no GUI.

The first update is a web interface. You can now manage and monitor profiles in the container from a regular browser, just as you would in the desktop app. The second is a VNC viewer that shows the container’s virtual screen with its running profiles. The documentation currently states that the VNC server is disabled by default to conserve resources and starts when opened from the interface. To connect with an external client such as TigerVNC, set the VNCENABLE and VNCPASSWORD variables and expose port 5900. Kameleo recommends opening VNC only on a trusted network.

The same release fixed Junglefox freezing on some websites, an auto-update failure on macOS, and long-running sessions being disconnected after 30 days. Proxies with spaces in the username now work. Edge and Safari were moved to a collapsed “Other browsers” section on the profile creation page. The Docker Hub image is now tagged 4.5.0, 4.5, and 4, so you can pin the version to the required level of precision.

In version 5.0, the VNC viewer was integrated directly into the web interface, so a separate port is no longer required.
