From June to September 2026, BitBrowser released versions 7.1.3 and 7.1.5 and ran a sale on long-term plans. The releases are documented in the changelog, and the discounts were announced in company news posts.
June 1, version 7.1.3: the local profile cache is now stored encrypted. Third-party programs can no longer directly read cookies, Local Storage, IndexedDB, or extension data from disk. The Local API methods
/utils/readfileand/utils/readexcelno longer allow access to sensitive data. The company also says it plans to phase outreadfilesoon, so scripts that use it to read files will need an alternative.August 20, version 7.1.5: MCP support was added. According to the company’s August 21 guide, an AI tool connects to a local address (by default,
http://127.0.0.1:54345/mcp) using an API key. It can create and launch profiles, change proxies, groups, and fingerprints, and manage cloud phones. Preset configurations are available for Codex, Cursor, Claude Code, and other clients. Key verification must first be enabled in the Local API. The same version also added:- a virtual desktop, so the browser doesn’t get in the way of regular computer use;
- restrictions for sub-accounts: opening DevTools, installing and removing extensions, and visiting addresses outside the allowlist or on the blacklist;
- the
browser/addandbrowser/modifymethods, which replacebrowser/updateand respond faster.
