Version 2.50.0 was released on September 1, 2026. The main addition is UDP support for SOCKS5 proxies. The feature is still in testing, and the developers ask users to contact support if anything isn’t working as expected.
With UDP, WebRTC connects directly through the proxy without workarounds, and the browser can use QUIC (HTTP/3), a protocol used by more and more major sites. SOCKS5 settings now have a “Proxy with UDP support” checkbox. When you test a proxy, the indicator turns green if it supports UDP and red if it doesn’t. You can enable the checkbox by default for new profiles. The API and bulk import now support the socks5u format, for example socks5u://127.0.0.1:1234:login:pass.
Only enable this option for proxies you know support UDP: WebRTC stops working if you enable it on a proxy that doesn’t. You can check QUIC on browserleaks or in DevTools on Google sites. The company warns that QUIC is sensitive to network conditions and may not work when a VPN is enabled, for example. A regular browser behaves the same way.
The release also includes the Chromium 152 engine. It fixes a conflict between launch options (always on top, minimized, maximized) and the --window-position and --window-size flags, along with some bugs that caused the app’s main window to crash when the API was used with many threads. Version 2.50.1 came out the same day with a fix for IPv6 checking.
