Afina 2.0.10: Profiles Run More Reliably on Servers Without a GPU

In Windows version 2.0.10, profiles opened over RDP or on a server without a graphics card run more reliably. No additional configuration is required.

On June 1, Afina released version 2.0.10 for Windows. It is designed for users who keep their profiles on rented servers, VPSs, or remote machines and connect to them via RDP. In the past, profiles could lag in these environments and, according to the company, look “not quite like a real browser.”

Version 2.0.10 fixes this: on machines without a dedicated graphics card, profiles run more reliably and look more natural, including over Remote Desktop. Afina detects the environment automatically and selects the appropriate mode, so no manual configuration is required. The announcement does not specify exactly what changes in the fingerprint.

In July, the company published a guide for Windows Server without a GPU, but it covers interface lag in the app itself, not in profiles. The guide recommends updating Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime, which Afina’s interface is built on, enabling software rendering in the app settings, adding the Afina folder to the antivirus exclusions, and storing profile data on a local SSD rather than a network drive. Version 2.0.14 also introduced manual GPU selection when creating or editing a profile.
