On October 23, 2026, Octo Browser announced in its Telegram channel that Hive Proxy proxies now support UDP. This applies to the provider’s residential and mobile proxies, including ones already added. No setup is needed: the client detects UDP support automatically and displays an icon next to the IP.
Hive Proxy is available in Octo’s built-in proxy shop, where the company describes it as one of its popular providers. Mobile proxies were added on September 7 in version 3.1, with separate balances for mobile and residential traffic. The proxy shop also added Nodyx, a provider that supports UDP, at the same time.
Octo announced support for UDP proxies in July. The feature has been available since version 3.0.6. The company’s explanation: QUIC and HTTP/3 run over UDP, as do WebRTC requests to STUN servers. On a site using HTTP/3, regular Chrome will most likely use it, while a profile behind a proxy without UDP will fall back to HTTP/2. Anti-fraud systems may detect the discrepancy.
UDP traffic goes through SOCKS5 proxies only. Octo says most anti-fraud systems don’t pay much attention to this yet.
What to do: Hive Proxy customers just need to launch a profile or check the connection, then see whether the UDP icon appears next to the IP.
