Octo Browser in July: Chromium 150 and 151, WebGL spoofing without a graphics card

In July, the Octium browser engine was updated twice, first to Chromium 150 and then to 151, both times two days after Chrome. The company also announced improved renderer spoofing.

In July 2026, the Octium browser engine used by Octo Browser was updated twice. The Chromium 150 version was released on July 2, followed by Chromium 151 on July 30. According to the Chromium Dash schedule, stable Chrome 150 and 151 were released on June 30 and July 28, respectively, so Octo lagged behind Chrome by two days both times. The Octium changelog lists no other changes for these versions.

On July 21, the company announced improved renderer spoofing. According to Octo, 2D Canvas and 3D WebGL in a profile now match the graphics card specified in the fingerprint and remain consistent with each other. Even on a virtual machine without a GPU, the profile gets a valid graphics card instead of software rendering. Octo claims that most antidetect browsers spoof only 2D Canvas and leave WebGL unchanged, while spoofing both reduces blocks from Akamai, ThreatMetrix, Cloudflare, and Google services. The post includes no version number or figures. In its August roundup of major updates, the company listed this change alongside the 3.0 release, UDP proxies, and the Android app.

Who this affects: Primarily users running profiles on servers and virtual machines without a graphics card. The company did not describe a separate setting for the new spoofing feature.
